The Elsberry Chamber of Commerce strives to enhance and improve
the economic health and quality of life in our community.
To achieve our objectives and goals, the Chamber of Commerce has
developed a five point Mission Statement:
- Influence residents to first look within our community for goods,
services, and entertainment;
- Attract consumers from throughout the region and promote Elsberry
as a mercantile and entertainment center for the region;
- Promote a community environment which attracts new business,
employment, and residential opportunities;
- Work with, and for, our Chamber members to attain their goals,
and establish active working relationships with private and public
entities;
- Establish strategic alliances with our neighboring communities
to enhance the quality of life for all citizens in the area.
ALL RURAL Elsberry precinct voters are to
vote at the Senior Citizens Building located at 5th and Broadway.
Persons residing in the city limits will continue voting at City
Hall.

JECBA Fall Festival and
Parade
The High School Fall Festival (sponsored by JECBA) is scheduled
for Saturday, November 3rd beginning with a 2pm parade.
The gym is under renovation and the JECBA kids are also working
around the marching band schedule therefore the change of date and
time. Games, Chili Supper and Coronation will be held at school. |
In view of today’s
business and technological climate, Elsberry provides an attractive
alternative for business operations as compared to a more urban
environment. Recent -- and on-going -- real estate developments
provide residents with a number of housing styles, in attractive
locations, and all at remarkably affordable prices
Elsberry enjoys a number of features which make it an enviable
place to live and work:
- highly rated schools,
- beautiful landscapes,
- a clean and safe environment,
- good highway and rail access,
- superb nearby recreational facilities, and
- a positive public attitude.
Over
25 years ago a lovely group of ladies funded the purchase of an
abundance of holiday décor for all to enjoy. These decorations
are in in the process of being replaced.
In June, the Elsberry Senior Citizens, JECBA and the Chamber voted
on three new styles of white light pole pieces to line Hwy. 79.
The Star of Bethlehem, Deluxe Snowflakes and Festive Christmas trees
will lend a festive air. Eighteen new pieces have been purchased
and gifted to the City of Elsberry. They are in storage awaiting
the November 2007 debut installment.
When enough additional funds are raised, the secondary purchase
will be made in order to decorate Broadway. Many thanks to one and
all who have contributed through the Annual Classics on Wheels car
show and through private donations. We are working together to make
Elsberry a fun place to visit and a great place to live.
Donations are still being accepted
through the Bank of Lincoln County.
Elsberry has nearby nature areas developed and monitored by the
Missouri Department of Natural Resources which are ideal spots for
bird
watching and other outdoor recreation.
